Just when I thought I was done with the Harry Hole series…

Phantom by Jo Nesbø

Phantom by Jo Nesbø (US release = Knopf Doubleday: October 2) has to go and feature Oleg, Harry’s not-son and one of the few people he genuinely cares about. Oleg also has the happy distinction of the few characters I would actually like to see more of unlike, say, his mother or any of the weird women who develop a weird thing for Harry despite his… well, his Harryness.

I couldn’t even finish The Leopard let alone grant it a favorable review, but I guess there’s some series/characters that just require a second chance. I really love Jo Nesbø’s writing and Harry is a really fascinating mess. And Robin Sachs’ narration for the audio books is really, really good.

In the mean time, I think I might re-read/re-listen to The Snowman. It’s awfully hot out once again, and days like this practically demand Scandinavian mysteries.

I'm a librarian, reader, and writer whose main goal in life is to be able to swim in books the way Scrooge McDuck swims in money. Although my reading choices will always be wildly eclectic and I never plan on leaving any genre unexplored, my favorite reads tend to be Fantasy, Young Adult, Science Fiction, Gay Romance, or Historical Fiction.
