On My Wishlist #15

WishlistOn My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It’s a meme where participants list books they want but haven’t actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming.

So far only the UK cover is available but I don’t think anything could excite me more than a new Discworld book about Vimes.

Snuff (Discworld #39) by Terry Pratchett Summary: According to the writer of the best-selling crime novel ever to have been published in the city of Ankh-Morpork, it is a truth universally acknowledged that a policeman taking a holiday would barely have had time to open his suitcase before he finds his first corpse.

And Commander Sam Vimes of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch is on holiday in the pleasant and innocent countryside, but not for him a mere body in the wardrobe. There are many, many bodies and an ancient crime more terrible than murder.

He is out of his jurisdiction, out of his depth, out of bacon sandwiches, and occasionally snookered and out of his mind, but never out of guile. Where there is a crime there must be a finding, there must be a chase and there must be a punishment.

They say that in the end all sins are forgiven. But not quite all…

About April

I'm a librarian, reader, and writer whose main goal in life is to be able to swim in books the way Scrooge McDuck swims in money. Although my reading choices will always be wildly eclectic and I never plan on leaving any genre unexplored, my favorite reads tend to be Fantasy, Young Adult, Science Fiction, Gay Romance, or Historical Fiction. He is out of bacon sandwiches, oh no. I love bacon, I really do.
It sounds like a great book to read, is this part of a series?

    • I cannot wait to get it! And it is part of a series, but the order isn’t always too big a deal. Basically all of the books take place in a fictional fantasy land called Discworld and follow various characters around. Vimes is part of the Nightwatch books, which are my favorites. 🙂

I tried to read Thud! years ago but for some reason never really got into it. Maybe I should give it another shot? I know a lot of people like these books. Hope you enjoy this one when it comes your way.

Snuff will definitely be going into my shopping basket in October! I used to always pre-order Discworld books but I’ve learned I can get them quicker and cheaper at Tesco 🙂

That’s part of a series right? I’ve never read it, but it intrigues me! Might have to add that to my TBR pile.
    Happy reading!
