Teaser Tuesdays #19

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along!

My Teaser:
“And do you think anyone who survived fighting against him ever described him as honorable?”
“No.”
“If you remember nothing else, my son, remember this: it’s not the man who slays the most who wins the battle; it is the man who survives who wins it.”
– pg 40, Conan the Barbarian by Michael A. StackpoleConan the Barbarian by Michael A. Stackpole

I’m a bit of a broken record about this, I know, but I’m loving anything Conan-related and this novelization for the August 2011 film is actally quite good. The book suffers a bit when the focus shifts to anything other than Conan, but I really think Stackpole was the perfect choice in terms of writing this book. And the opening scenes of Conan’s training and sword-making with Corin (his father) as well as Connacht (his grandfather) are pretty much fantastic.

What are your Tuesday reads? If you have any Teasers, feel free to link me to them in a comment!

About April

I'm a librarian, reader, and writer whose main goal in life is to be able to swim in books the way Scrooge McDuck swims in money. Although my reading choices will always be wildly eclectic and I never plan on leaving any genre unexplored, my favorite reads tend to be Fantasy, Young Adult, Science Fiction, Gay Romance, or Historical Fiction. 3. Well, I’m really late this week. 🙂 But this is a great teaser. He must be one crazy fighter if no one survives a fight with him. 🙂
