Disappointing Reads of 2011

This year I’ve tried a lot harder to give up on books I don’t enjoy and as a result, I don’t really have a list of books that I can claim to be the Worst Reads of 2011. Instead, here are my Top 11 Disappointing Reads of 2011.

Please note that not of these titles were published this year. Please also note that Disappointing does not mean Dreadful. It simply means that of the 289 books I’ve read and the 159 I subsequently reviewed, these 11 were my least favorites.

1 Star:

Batman: Knight and Squire by Paul Cornell

Spider Bones by Kathy Reichs

2 Stars:

An Artificial Night by Seanan McGuire

Beastly by Alex Flinn

Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning

Captured by the Highlander by Julianne MacLean

Falling for Hamlet by Michelle Ray

Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

Ocean of Blood by Darren Shan

Wanna Get Lucky? by Deborah Coonts

X-Men/Steve Rogers: Escape from the Negative Zone

About April

I'm a librarian, reader, and writer whose main goal in life is to be able to swim in books the way Scrooge McDuck swims in money. Although my reading choices will always be wildly eclectic and I never plan on leaving any genre unexplored, my favorite reads tend to be Fantasy, Young Adult, Science Fiction, Gay Romance, or Historical Fiction.
